OUR HISTORY
OUR HISTORY
Octave Klaba, Founder of OVH
“I was born in Poland and I came to France after the fall of the Berlin Wall. In 1999, I was studying engineering in Lille and because I clearly wasn’t busy enough already, I decided to create OVH to help people looking for web hosting solutions. Since its launch, OVH’s growth has boomed on an international scale. My father and brother both play important roles within the company. This notion of family is an element that is intrinsically part of OVHcloud’s core ethos. These collective and multicultural values form the foundations of our company culture. They are what let us see things differently, which is essential as we look towards the future! Shaking things up and knowing how to think outside the box also mean giving yourself the opportunity to write your own story, as we work together to write that of OVHcloud.“

PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING
How is applicants’ personal data processed?
When you sign up to careers.ovhcloud.com and apply for a job with us, OVH S.A.S. will process your personal data. This personal data processing is required for the receipt and registration of applications, as well as for managing the recruitment process (namely the selection process, interviews and follow-up) relating to employees’ line management, responding to applications and, if applicable, handling any disputes.
The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679: the processing is required for the execution of pre-contractual measures and for the establishment of the contractual relationship between the entities of OVH Group and applicants. In the event of recruitment by an OVH Group entity, the data will consequently be processed for the purposes of employee administrative management and career management.
Identification, career, and cover letter data, as well as data regarding the line management of the applicant, employee or the person who recruited the applicant are sent to Affiliate Companies (both inside and outside the EU), hosting data within the SAP Success Factor solution in the European Union (the Netherlands). Some of this data may be required and, if this is the case, you’ll be informed when it is collected, primarily in the form of an asterisk or an equivalent marking.
Your data is retained for the entire duration of the application process and, with your consent, it is retained for an intermediate period of 13 months from the last point of communication for the purposes of creating a CV bank. Following this, it is then archived until the legal limitation periods expire. However, in the event of hiring, this data is processed for the purpose of sending a formal job offer and retained throughout the contractual relationship between you and the OVH Group entities concerned.
To exercise your rights (access, rectification, erasure, opposition and limitation of processing, and portability) or if you have any questions about the processing of your data within this system, you can contact the Data Protection Officer at the address dpo@ovh.com, attaching proof of identity. You can also file a complaint with the CNIL (French Data Protection Authority).
