OVHCLOUD X EPITECH : A HACKATHON TO UNLEASH CREATIVITY IN YOUNG TECH TALENTS

At OVHcloud, we are convinced that the future of digital is shaped in the classroom. From January 12 to 15, 2026, our teams headed to the Epitech campus for an intensive three-day Hackathon. Let’s look back at an event fueled by innovation, AI, and mentorship.
As part of our commitment to Young Talents, this partnership with Epitech marks a new milestone for the OVHcloud Education program. The goal? To empower students to step beyond theory and tackle the real-world challenges of Cloud infrastructure and Artificial Intelligence.

THREE DAYS TO CODE, TEST, AND INNOVATE

The kickoff took place on Monday at the Epitech Hub. Five teams (17 highly motivated students) took on the challenge: designing an original technical solution using exclusively OVHcloud’s AI tools and services.
The « open project » format sparked incredible creativity. Among the projects explored, the winners were:

  • Grand Prix: Using the YOLO model for recognition and translation of American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Technical Prize: Elden Ring Forge - A neural network trained from scratch to find the best weapon for any in-game combat.
  • Demo Prize: Karaoke Lyrics Generator - A tool that displays lyrics and removes vocals to create a perfect karaoke experience for any track.

A « MADE IN OVHCLOUD » MENTORSHIP

The success of this Hackathon was, above all, about human connection. Our experts - Benoît, Sinan, and Magali - mentored the groups throughout their development, sharing their professional experience and market vision.

« Programming isn't just about syntax; it's about solving complex problems in an ecosystem that evolves every day » highlighted Malo, one of the winning students.
This hands-on proximity also helps break stereotypes. By engaging directly with students, we continue to promote diverse role models and encourage gender balance within tech teams.

IMPACT: BEYOND THE CODE

On Wednesday afternoon, the final pitches before a joint jury (Epitech faculty and OVHcloud experts) revealed an impressive technical level. Beyond the technical demos, the students were rewarded for their agility and their ability to pitch a complete, viable solution.
